About the Art
White River winds invisible, but near, for much of the paths which skirt it. The piece echoes the line of the river up into the trees and wind for passerby to see. A silvery ribbon of kinetic color and light will shimmer with every breeze over the river. Formed of hundreds of lightweight aluminum tiles hung upon a mesh grid, the colors are cool blues along the bottom and warm bright tones along the top. Because the piece is so airy, it incorporates the changing landscapes of summer, fall, and early winter.
Materials Durability and Safety:
This is an ephemeral piece. It should last well over three months, but is not intended for long-term installation. The areas of mesh have close groupings of the tiles to help make it visible to birds and bats – the areas away from the mesh are spaced strands of wire.
